Service Description
Learn to Sew — With Confidence This adult Learn to Sew workshop is a thoughtfully designed 4-class series that builds skills step by step, so nothing feels overwhelming and everything feels achievable. All materials are included — sewing machines, pre-cut fabric, notions, and tools — so you can simply show up and focus on learning. Fabric is pre-cut for each project, allowing you to concentrate on technique, accuracy, and understanding your machine rather than worrying about measuring or cutting. Each class introduces new skills that build on the last, giving you a strong foundation and the confidence to continue sewing at home. Class 1: Sewing Machine Basics We begin with the anatomy of the sewing machine. You’ll learn how a machine works, how to thread it properly, wind and change a bobbin, adjust tension, select stitches, and troubleshoot common issues. This class is designed to remove fear and help you feel comfortable and in control at the machine. Class 2: Quilted Mug Rugs Using pre-cut fabric, you’ll create quilted mug rugs while practicing straight stitching, seam allowance control, pivoting corners, quilting through layers, and pressing for a polished finish. This class builds confidence and muscle memory while reinforcing accuracy. Class 3: Lined Drawstring Bag In this class, you’ll sew a fully lined drawstring bag using prepared pieces. You’ll learn how to sew with layers, create casings, turn projects neatly, and understand basic bag construction — transferable skills for many future projects. Class 4: Lined Zippered Pouch The final class brings everything together as you tackle a lined zippered pouch. You’ll learn zipper installation, clean finishing techniques, and how to assemble a project with structure and confidence. Each project is intentionally chosen as a stepping stone to the next, so by the end of the series you’re not just following instructions — you understand the process. You’ll leave with completed projects, practical sewing skills, and the confidence to sit down at a sewing machine and take on projects at home.
