Maudlin’s Sewing 101 Intro is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about learning to sew but not ready to commit to a full course yet. In this 2.5 hour beginner workshop, you’ll be introduced to the essential skills needed to understand and confidently use a sewing machine. This class is designed to remove the intimidation factor and give you a clear, hands-on introduction to the world of sewing in a relaxed and supportive environment. During this class you will learn: • The anatomy of a sewing machine and what each part does • How to properly thread a sewing machine • How to wind and insert a bobbin • The purpose of different presser feet and when to use them • An introduction to different types of stitches and what they’re used for • Basic sewing machine operation and control To put your new skills into practice, you’ll also complete a simple beginner project to take home, giving you the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands while reinforcing what you’ve learned. All machines, tools, and materials are provided, so you can simply show up ready to learn.
