Service Description

Take the next step in your sewing journey with Maudlin’s Learn to Sew – Part 2, a four-session series designed for students who have completed Learn to Sew Part 1 or already know the basics of sewing and would enjoy working on custom projects in a supportive class environment. This series builds on the foundational skills introduced in Part 1 while introducing new techniques that help you create more structured, polished sewing projects. Students will work through three new projects while strengthening their confidence at the sewing machine and learning construction methods commonly used in everyday sewing. Throughout the series, students will complete three projects designed to build skills and confidence: • Professionally Finished Tote Bag Learn how to construct a professionally finished tote bag while working with interfacing to add structure and durability. This project also teaches how to attach strong shoulder straps, reinforce stress points, and use topstitching for a clean professional finish. • Envelope Pillow Cover This project focuses on precision measuring and cutting while introducing a simple but effective envelope back closure. Students will gain confidence working with larger pieces of fabric and learn finishing techniques commonly used in home décor sewing. • Button Closure Pouch Students will create a lined pouch with a flap and button closure, learning how to combine machine sewing with basic hand sewing techniques. This project introduces sewing buttons securely, creating button loops, and constructing small functional accessories with clean finishes. All machines, tools, and materials are provided so you can focus on learning and creating. By the end of the series, students will leave with three completed projects and a stronger understanding of sewing techniques that can be used in future projects. Ready to continue building your sewing skills? Join us at Maudlin for Learn to Sew – Part 2 and keep creating.
